I am New to SFV

Now that I am 25 and my daughter begins second grade, certain aspirations are becoming harder to ignore. For her sake and my own, a college education has become paramount. This year I put in my FAFSA early, applied and was admitted into a community college in my area, and early registration begins today. Looking at the class schedules it becomes increasingly more evident that time, money, and temperament will be thoroughly tested while trying to attain a degree. Unfortunately, I am not sure how it can be done. I'm seeking testimonials, job ideas, specific grant names, anything that might aid or inspire solutions on my way through school. Information regarding writing or editing apprenticeships or apprenticeships of any kind would be helpful. Anyone who has succeeded in begging (in the literal sense) a department head for concessions (whatever those may be and at whatever cost) is welcome to share that experience. And, as an aside, I'd like to say hello to any single parent who must deal with the constant insecurities of love, sex, self-image, finance, or all of the above: will the madness ever end!?
