Hello, I just need some opinions, lol.
My 3 1/2 yr old twins have been in daycare since they were 6weeks old, they are now in the preschool (2.5-5yr room) and last spring their teacher said they were both quite advanced, and she asked if i was interested in enrolling them in kindergarten a year early, i thought about it, but decided against it because i have seen way to many kids start out awesome, and do a 360, fall behind, and well..fail, and im NOT worried they'll do that, their father and I did very well acedemically are whole lifes, but I dont want to put to much pressure on them to young, if later on they have the oppurtuinty then it will be their choice, anyway thats not my topic, lol...So the same teacher asked recently if instead if i would be interested in enrolling them in a french emerg program. Now I only know about enough french, to get me thru Quebec and France, but not much, their dad is pretty fluent (even tho hes not around much) and their grandma (dads side) is quite french, lol.
My question is, has anyone been in/have their kids in a second language program? Im not really sure how it works. I think it would be a great way for them to be challenged instead of throwing them into the school system a year early. Iam going to talk to the program coordinators, and other parents, but my mind has to be made up pretty soon, and I just wanted as much insite/opinions as possible!

I think it would be a great idea to put your kids into a second language programme.

My son and I are both bilingual. I started basically from day 1 Smiler

The earlier you start the easier it is to learn another language. And the teacher certainly thinks they can handle it.
If I understand correctly, your daughters have french family from their father's side.
There will come a time when they will want to know more about that side of them, so it will help if they understand some of the language/culture.

Wow! Twins! Being a single parent of twins must be double the work! It sounds like you are doing great!
All the best!
