Help, I'm raving mad that my childminder;s children have bullied my child... I took the matter up with said minder who said she'll raise the matter. Her response did not sit well with me ("WELL, KIDS ARE KIDS...") nMy daughter refused to go to school and when I dug deeper it transpires that this is bacause she went to said childminder with an issue which amounted to bullying and she (my daughter) was accused of lying!) I was livid so took her to school myself, phoned the minder who told me daughter lied regularly (I sought the teacher;s advice and was told this was NOT true, as it wasn;t with anyone else who cared for her). She's now asking me not just for full 4 weeks notice payment (I have offered her 2 which she refused), but food as well! I know I am well within my rights and have reported her not only for this but other happenings which I have been upsate about, but working full time and being single I dont know if I can deal with this stress and my mother has advised just to 'pay her off'. But on the other hand I feel I should stand up to her and say NO! Am I being unreasonable / overprotective etc etc....? Help!

My first question to you would be,did you have a written contract with this caregiver? If you did all of this should be stated in it.If you did not I think you are being a responsible parent by offering her the two weeks.

I did have written contract. It states that 'under normal circumstances 4 weeks notice should be given', though I dont feel these are nomal circumstances. I guess this is why I'm wonderin gif this is unreasonable of me??
