I have a 3 year old adopted son that i haved adopted with my ex wife. We have seperated 2 years ago and recently. My son has been acting strange after he came home from her house one day. When i try to take him to her he starts pitching a fit and starts crying and holding on to me really tight. She says she has never touched him. What is wrong with him?

Is it possible that he does the same thing to her when it's time to go back to you? I recently heard that this is not uncommon behaviour, yet is frequently misinterpreted to mean more than it is.

For the age it is very normal. Not something I would brush aside in case it is more. But at this age of 3 they are asserting there independents but they may regress to the clingy needing their main care giver all the time. So don't stress too much he will grow out of it but don't ignore it.. Talk to your son ask him why he is crying it maybe something unrelated. but by you showing you care he knows you are still there to count on. Be patient..
