Daggone them schools teaching kids to read! My daughter was behind me reading some of the stuff I was and I just had to have a talk with her on this subject.

Good that she asked and felt comfortable, and I guess good that you prepared me for it Paul!!! LMAO

Paul so glad it went well. She's a lucky girl to have such a caring supportive father.

There are no age requirements it's just a personal choice.

I remember. My friends and I all ordered the starter kit that there was a coupon for in the back of the book. We used to try the pads out before any of us even got our periods. We thought we were cool.

Awesome! I knew there had to be someone out there who knew what I was talking about!

I never ordered the starter kit, but I did attempt the "bust increasing exercises" that Margaret and her friends demonstrated. I don't think it did me any good, though. lmao

Oh yes. You are bringing me down memory lane. We had the "club" where we all got bra's and had to snap each others backs to see if we were wearing them when the club members met up. Ha ha

I rem that book too. I'm thinking now I should order it for my daughter so I have it when she may neeed it.
here's a question does the age of a mom when she started menstrating have any bearing on when her daughter may. I was very young so does that mean my daughter will be too?

I'm laughing so hard. I must be silly, but I still have both box collections my mother bought me of the Judy Blume books. I've also added quite a few that weren't in them. I learned a lot from reading Judy Blume books. My mother never talked with me about anything really, so to get any details I had to read.

normajean - It does have a lot to do with genetics, so best to be prepared.

OMG I remember sitting with my friends on recess at the Catholic school reading the book outloud. "Are You There God..." was banned at our school and we were the rebels that were reading it. What a fun memory!
