Here are a few things that you can do. There may be an on campus daycare. Look into it now!!!!! There is usually a waiting list so you want to get on it sooner than later. If worse comes to worse you may need to go to school at night just until he is older and you can enroll him in pre preschool and then go during the day while he's there. As for money....You can apply for a Pell Grant. Go to www.fafsa.ed.gov and apply there. You'll have to get a pin number but it will tell you all of that. If you have questions just ask me. Are you going to a community college, UC, or Cal State? I go to a communuity college right now and there is a Govenor's Fee Waiver, ask your financial aid office if they have such a thing. This can waive your tuition fee and your book fees if you can get it and seeing that you are a Cali resident you can apply if your school offers it. There are also student loans which you don't have to pay back until you graduate from college. Again, you need to ask you financial aid office for a form for the student loans. You usually can't apply for a student loan though until you have recieved a Pell Grant. I also got this thing called a SEOG Grant. The state decides if you need it you can't apply but because I have such a need I recieved it. Apply as soon as possible for all these things but there are dates for some things that you have to wait to apply for. Don't forget that when you fill things out about income, you are independent, you are the head of your household which only includes you and your son, and the only income that you need to count is your own and any support that your child may get. Good luck on all of this and good for you to go back to school! Keep me updated on how that's going and again if you have any questions just let me know!
