I am New to SFV
Posted
Hi, my name is Amber, I'm 18 and 5 months pregnant. I am very excited to have a baby but my parents are not. They try everyday to convince me to give it up for adaption. I know its not a bad idea but I have already made up my mind to keep it. I feel torn between my friends who support me and my parents. Any advice? Roll Eyes

I had my son when I was 18 and while my mom was very supportive others weren't. If you have made up your mind stick with that decision. Don't let ANYONE change what you want, espcially when it comes to you and your child. If you think that you can provide for your child and if you know that you can not bear to give up your child don't do it. I know that it is hard to face opposition, but your parents will come around. My son's grandmother from his father's side came up to my work and lectured me about how I should give up my son for adoption and now she can't get enough of him when we visit. Don't worry, it will all work out. I know, easier said then done, but enjoy your pregnancy and get ready for this bundle of joy. This baby will be more of a blessing than either you or your parents can imagine. Once he/she comes everything will change, and you'll be so happy! Best of luck!

Getting My Feet (Board) Wet

Hey Amber,
I was 15 when I first got preganet. My parents also wanted for me to give my baby up for adoption. They even asked me to get an abortion. But I knew that I wouldn't be able to go through with it. After a while my parents came around now they have a beutiful granddaughter that they can't get enough of. Give it some time if my parents can come around so can yours.
