i was wondering if anyone knows how the maternity home deal works. or if anyone knows of anyone who has lived in one? if u have let me know. thanks!

i lived in a maternity home in st.augustine florida for half of my pregnancy until my daughter
was 6 months old.i got government benefits food stamps,money,and medicaid.) i learned so much while i lived there..they teach you about how to take care of and raise a baby.i made a lot of friends who were in the same situation. its not really that bad. i actually enjoyed living there.
it teached me how to be a good mother. they also give you free lamaze classes. i think the rule of maternity homes is that you only live there for 2 years max. i read in one of your entries that you're from south florida..i live in south florida too. i know of two maternity homes here. one is called "his caring place", in broward county. i was going to live there until i decided to live at the one in st.augustine. his caring place is VERY strict. but its worth it if you have no place to live! its in a nice house,has a pool,and big bedrooms. another maternity home is in lantana(palm beach county).the house isnt as nice but its not as strict as his caring place.to live there you have to be in school(high school or college). you can only stay for 2 years max. all maternity homes give you free daycare..which is so important since its so expensive. the maternity home in lantana is called "transitions girls home". if you need any help during your pregnancy you can call "first care pregnancy".its totally free and they have lists of all the maternity homes. heres their phone number 561-721-2264 or 1800395help. you should really consider living at a maternity home. it will give you an opportunity to further your education so you can give your baby a better life. let me know how everything goes..ill try to find the phone numbers of those two maternity homes. good luck

yeah i heard about those. i was seeing a counselor from calvary chapel who was tellin me about his caring place. theres just so much to do that i dont even know where to start.

Does anyone know of any schools in FL that are designed for single teenage mothers?
