I am New to SFV |
My son is 3 years old. He is potty-trained. I know people say children regress in their training but I don't even know where to start! OK, about a 2 weeks ago my son started having accidents. I wasn't too concerened, but what I was more concerned about was the amount of accidents that were occuring in a day. His teachers in pre-school even told me they thought something might be wrong with him. He was going to the bathroom more than what he would consume each day. I had just found out I had Samonella infection so I immediately had him seen too. His urine culture came back fine. I thought he might have an UTI but the doctor reconfirmed that he didn't. I asked the doctor if he was trying to "get attention" from me (even if it was negative). She said she didn't think so. She said after children are potty-trained they don't want to be wet anymore than you do. So, what do I do? I have tried everything!!! I have tried encouraging him. I told him everyday he goes to the potty in the toliet I told him I would take or do something special with him. That worked for a day. And now, same old thing! He is worse than our dog who isn't potty-trained. He has gone pee on the chairs, the couch, his bed, the floors. It has too end! This is disgusting...PLUS all I do now is spend time washing his clothes. Does any one have any suggestions??? I would appreciate any help. Thank you!

"Parent on Board" Lively & Zealous Parent |
My oldest daughter did that for a little while. She would pee in anything she could find rather than tell me she had to go. Bowls, the floor, barbie car you name it. I was never sure why she did it. The only thing I could come up with was that when she was doing something, playing etc. she just didnt want to take time out to go to the bathroom. So I just started asking her if she had to go alot and then returning her to what she was doing so she would realize that she could still play after. Took me a few weeks but eventually she got the hang of it. Sorry I couldnt be much of a help but my youngest is almost ready to start potty training so I might have some more ideas in the near future.
