At 54 I became a Father - At 57 my wife went to work called home and said she was not coming back. I was left with a 3 year old boy in diapers. All of a sudden I was responsible for everything - diapers, feeding, bathing, etc. Here it is a year later and I have done fine. He is no longer in diapers and a wonderful little guy. I must say I do not know how you Mothers do it - One is a full time job - more than one - they should name stars after you.

I certainly have gained an enormous respect for Mothers, including my own.

Hats off to you!

Hi there, you mean it took you 54 years for us mothers to gain your respect...lol...I have been a single mom for the past 4 years of 3 children at home. I love it, and I hate it, but I wouldnt change a thing. Congrats on your success. Blessings to you.

I have had respect for you Moms - I now have even more. I have 2 grown children and I called their Mother and apologized for not helping more and being more understanding when they were small. She thanked me and said that back then Dads were not expected to help more. I feel guilty for not helping more. She was a single Mom and did a fantastic job of rasing the children - to this day I still send her a Mother's Day Card thanking her for all she has done. She is still an angel - probably should have stayed with her. Roll Eyes Roll Eyes
