this is just one of those - kids say the darndest things moments. and had me nearly in tears from laughter

side note - we are potty training right now, so tobi spends his waking moments in undies (so freakin' cute) and sleeps in a diaper at the moment...

potty humor....

the words that follow are tobi peering out of his room at naptime in an attempt to not sleep....

"mommy, i had an accident. my pants are very wet" (he quotes from the potty book, and he is currently in a diaper and no pants)

"its not gas"

"its poop"

"my pants are very wet, very wet. my pants are very wet" (mastering the sentence)

"oh boy."

"it's a big mess"

"mommy, clean up the poop?"

"big mess, clean up the poop?"

by the end i was just about in tears with my head cradled into the crook of my arm, trying desperately to hid just how funny i thought it was and how well he had truly grabbed my attention.

The problem in these situations is not to laugh as then that just gets them going more, but how do you not laugh.

I will be nice to my 2 oldset boys (both married) and not tell stories about them, but there were many funny moments.

That's too funny! Someone told me once to write these down in a journal or calendar to go back through when they are bigger. Sure wish I did because I know I've forgotten some doozies.

Good luck not laughing...I'm still trying to learn that technique too.

I wish I would have written things down. I remember laughing, I just can't remember what it was that made me laugh. I used to think, "I should write that down." Than I would think "Well, I'll never forget that, it was to memorable." Yet, I seem to have forgotten most of it. One things for sure, Kids Say the Darndest things! The little dears..lol
