I wanted to quick post something my 8 year old daughter Cassie said to me the other day. When I clean I find it easiest to pick things up by groups, like I will go around the house and pick up all the cloths, then all the toys, then books ect, things that don't have a group go in the miscellaneous box, the other day I was putting things in that box and was saying to myself "this is miscellaneous, this is miscellaneous...." and Cassie asked me "mom why are you giving all this stuff to Miss Laneous?" I had to try to explain to her what miscellaneous means, she thought it was a person.

Those are cute. When my daughter's sister was little, her and her mom were big church goers. When she would say the Hail Mary, she would go "Hail Mary, full of grapes".

My girls have had cute sayings too, but I will share my daughters response to a cliche. I was lecturing/yelling at my girls for a messy playroom and proceeded to tell them "they can't have their cake and eat it too". My then 6 year old daughter looks at me confused and says, "but I don't have any cake". I couldn't be upset anymore after that. Since then I have asked myself, "Why can't I have my cake and eat it too?" Why would anyone want to make/buy a cake and not eat it? Just a strange thought of mine.

Total-when u mentioned picking up things by groups...I realized I do that a lot too. It does make sense doesn't it? Cuz then you take everything where it needs to go at one time instead of back and forth (like books to the bookcase, shoes to the closet or wherever, etc..)
Netsurfr- I agree-having your cake and eating it too is what anyone would want...I dont know how that term ever turned into a saying for something negative! lol
Its funny how kids think..my six year old girl, Jordan, is a big time mamas girl. Sometimes when Ive been frustrated with my kids (mainly the teenagers) Id say "I cant wait til you guys are 18 and can live on your own!" (not that Id kick them out instantly or anything at 18,especially if they needed help) But one day Jordan said to me "mommy do I have to move out when Im older?" I said, "No...but dont you want to have your own place one day?" She said no, she wants to live with me forever! So I asked what if she got married...her husband probobly wouldnt want to live with me, and she said "Well, we can rent one of those apartments that are empty, next to you"!
LOL, I thought it was funny how much thought she put into it...

Julia (3 year old) came up with a great way to get free money...

A few weeks ago I took her rented "Strawberry Shortcake" movie back to the video store and she got very upset, "mommy, I told you that I wanted to keep that movie" I explained to her that I did not have the money to buy the movie...she then retorts, "then go get some" and I asked her just where it was that I was supposed to go and get money from....without pause she states, "the dollar store"..... TOO MUCH! How nice it would be to be so innocent and naive. Smiler

My kids thought my bank card was the way to get money. "Just use your card", they couldn't understand the concept that you had to have money in the bank first.
