What are some of the funniest things your kids have said because of a letter or letters they can't pronounce? Like for example, my 5 year old cant say the th sound, so like if you give her something she says sank you, and my 6 year old can't say the sk sound, one day when I was working on the computer she looked at the computer disks I have and said "boy mom, we have a lot of *****" (I hope I can type that word on here)

Hi ttal,
'bout time we saw those pics. Here's one; When my girl was about five or six, I took her to the ice cream stand at the local dairy. I asked what she wanted and went for double chocolate and I had praelines and cream. Outside on the bench we tasted each others, as I'm sure everyone here has done with their child and she asked "what flavour is that?". I told her, "praelines and cream". About two weeks later, we went back for ice cream again and when the lady asked what flavour she wanted, my girl looked right at her and said, "I'll have the aliens in cream." No matter what you see, no matter what you hear, no matter what you read...always always always get a second opinion... and then a third. |

My boy won't sit in shopping carts any more. He told the checkout girl at Wal-Mart that he was a big-boy now and the shopping carts hurt his junk and pointed at his area south on the navel. I also remember last year around thanksgiving, I had the stomach flu. I was miserable, and had reached that point where I was up all night puking. I was drinking water every hour all night just so I've have something in my stomach to throw up. I went to the grocery store with Jack to buy me some jello and popcicles, and ran in to my boss. He said, "Goodness, Lindsay! You look terrible! Are you feeling better?" I'd called in sick that day. My boy said, "My mom was up all night drinking and puking!" Crap. Yeah, that's real funny NOW!

Umm imagine taking your two year old to the store and when he passed the peanuts he pronounced it like the male apparatus because he didn't quite get that the T is not silent in this particular word!!

Kids say funny things but think about all the stuff we say to them as well. I have told my daughter to stop licking her shoe. The people in the car next to us looked at me so weird. Guess I should have kept my windows up huh

One day, with my daughter and her little friend, both about six at the time, I was standing in a fast food line up and the girls were asking me questions, of course every one I could answer or a least fake it through. Finally the little friend asked how I knew all this stuff and I gave my standard reply; "I'm the daddy; we know every thing." The snorting from the mother behind me was hilarious.

My daughter was acting up one day in a customer service line we were waiting in. I had to return that item before the 45 days were up, so we had to wait in line and not leave.
They had those big black camera things hanging from the ceiling and my daughter asked me what they were. I told her they were cameras, but followed it up with that Santa watches all the little kids in the store with those cameras. And if she didn't behave, he would know and she wouldn't get anything. I think it was June at the time. Needless to say, everyone else in line got a chuckle out of it, and my daughter behaved. As for funny things...I bet you can all relate to when your toddler was learning to go poo on a public toilet...they love to announce it really loud to the rest of the folks at the dinner table.. "Hope" is the thing with feathers- That perches in the soul- And sings the tune without words- and never stops-at all... Emily Dickinson |

Since my son has started spelling and sounding out words, he has found new and terrible ways of embarrasing me. We were sitting in a nice restaurant and waiting on our food. All of the sudden you hear this noise and I looked over. He says to me, "Mommy I know how to spell fart! F A R T!" I wanted to crawl under the table, because 8 tables turned around to stare.

Yesterday my parents called and said that they were going to come over and take the girls to McDonalds (which is something they do at least 3 times a week), and I told the girls that they were comming, after they came and got us things changed and we (me and my parents) decided to go for pizza instead, when we were at the pizza place, when the lady was taking our order, Kari yelled out, "I thought you said we were gona go to McDonalds!"

"SEEKING: 25th hour & 8th day" At A loss for Words - NOT! |
Oh things just get better as they get older. My daughter is 12. She and I have a very open line of communication. If she is old enough to ask she is old enough to get an answer, the truth. I can't go into what the subjects are without great detail about our relationship but here is a thought for you.... she is in middle school and recently got hold of a cosmo magazine(not teen cosmo and not mine). The difference, thank God, is she asks me these questions or makes statements in private .... but boy oh boy can she bowl me over!

LOL Carla...I know where you are coming from. Someimes I get knocked off my feet. It's hard to believe some of these things get asked at the tender age of 12. Nevertheless...As you say we have to answer. mmm mmm mmm
