At A loss for Words - NOT!

My 4 year old told me a story tonight which I've typed up. It's cute. I thought I'd share it here with you..

The Apple and the Orange

Once upon a time there was an apple. It was sick and sick all day long. Then there came the orange, the apples friend. The orange is eating with the apple so the apple is not sick anymore. It drank some rice milk and water and some medicine.

Then there was a farm animal coming. It was a cow. The cow said, MOOO MOOO because its suppose to. He saw their tree and house. Then the cow touched the apple because (he loves the orange). Then there were more animals, a horse and a sheep. They hugged each other because they kiss and love each other.

Then there was another animal and he was a bear. The bear went ROAR! and knocked the house down. The apple and the orange came out of the house and went to somebodys nice house.

Then there came people coming on a cow, horse and sheep. They got a ride from them to McDonalds. They eat dinner all day long because they love the farm animals to eat with them. They eat french fries and chicken. (The chicken is for the farm animals.)

Then there was a mean owl who take the bear away from the apples house. The bear and the owl had to fix the house. The farmer is going to fix the house with the owl and the bear too. He put the laundry house in, the door, the window and the phone and computer. Everything. Then they all finished. The orange and the apple is going to stay there for so so long.

The End

Big Grin

Awww, thanks Blindsky! Here's another short story my son wrote tonight. (I thought we could start a new trend here)..

No More Monsters

Once upon a time there was a police car. There was a lady and a man walking by to the bad guy and they took the bad guy away to jail. He went to jail because he said, Stupid, stupid, stupid! to peoples.

Then there was an ambulance coming and the lady cut the monster off of her body and head and that was so so funny. It was so funny because the lady step on him and step on him (because she feel like it). The people say YEAH! No more monsters!

Then there was another monster coming so the firetruck man took the other monster and put him on the firetruck. He just sit there and sit there for so long and he doesnt do anything. The firetruck drives to the mean people and the mean people put him in a mean bed with a happy face on it. The monster put his hand on the happy face and he was mad because the mean people were still there when he had to say sorry to the fire truck man.

Then there was three more monsters and so the fire car come and put them in jail because they like to help the people. Now they are all happy because there are no more monsters in the house.

The End

Hi,my name is Amy.I am seven and 1/2. My little brother Joel is a scardy-cat because he's afraid of monsters.I am not as scard as he is and he's six years old.I like to write stories, too.
At school we have this writer's workshop and I wrote two.One was called The Story Of The Big Huge Snow Blizzard and the other one was Birthday's For People In My Family. The story with the snow blizzard,I put red for the cover and the one with the birthdays,I put pink for the cover.I like to write alot. That's why I wrote so much this time.

This is Dad now, and yep she wrote that while I was getting the other 2 ready for bed. (She just started school this year.)

Multi tasking?

My son wrote this one in computer class.

Who said it was winter?

The water did when it froze.
The fire did when it warmed me up!
Jesus did when it was his birthday.
A snow flake did when it fell.
Giving did when it made people happy.
God did when he was happy.
The cold did when it made me cold!
The mistletoe did when it hung over Julie.
The candy canes did when I ate them.

I know it is not a story but I liked it. I hope you did too. This can be a really cool new trend. Thanks Jes.

Hi. This is Amy again. This is a story I rote in February. The Story Of The Big Huge Snow Blizzard written and illustrated by Amy Bartel February 2005.

The snowflakes were falling and the snow was getting higher. Mom's were letting their kids go out. {1}Some kids found a sled drifting on a snowdrift. They said that it was red. All the girls loved the color of the sled. They just loved it.{2}After the kids had shown their mom's and dad's,they were impressed. When the mom's saw the sled they loved the color of it too!{3}Then the next morning the moms'let their kids go back out in the snow. When children went back out.........up on the mountain there was a big, huge snow blizzard!{4}The children did not know that there was a big, huge snow blizzard on top of the mountain. The children went up on top of the mountain. They got lost!{5}After the children had become lost in the big, huge snow blizzard, they could not see a single thing ANYWHERE!{6}They tried to go down the way they went up. But they took too big of a step and.......they fell down. They bumped their heads and hit their bottoms and cried a lot!{7}"Help me mommy!" cried a little kid."I'm scared!"said another. They were very scared. They wanted their mommies and daddies.{8}The mom's and dad's did not hear their call at all! Then it was time for the kids to come in. But when the parents went out to find themthey were not there!{9}When the parents saw the mountain they were scared. Then they ran up and saved the day! And the families lived happily ever after.{10} THE END

This is the dad, the numbers in parentheses are page numbers. She typed it in herself. Sorry you don't get to see her drawings.

The Blue Drums

Once upon a time, there was blue drums. People took it home, all of them. They played with it for so long until it was bedtime. They went to sleep and listened to the man who come to their house to take all the drums away except two drums. He took them back to the store so more friends can take more.

The next day there was no more people anywhere. They were hiding under the drums waiting. Then the mom and dad come and took out the people from the drum. Everybody was happy because they got to play with the big drum.

The End
