My poor kid has been coughing non-stop all day long. I've tried everything I can think of..she's well medicated, i've slathered her with Vicks rub, she's been sucking on Rhinopops, warm tea w/lemon and honey, the vaporizer has been going in her room all day. Nothing is giving her relief! Anyone have any suggestions to try?

OMG! Thank you so much! It really did help. She's standing with her coat on at the back door now (I just raised the storm window so she didn't have to go completely outside) and all is finally quiet. I never would have thought of this. Thank you again.

Well she had Robitussin and tylenol during the day and I just gave her a bit of NyQuil for bedtime. One of my friends told me to put vicks on the bottom of her feet and cover them with warm socks. This worked great also. She's sleeping now (finally) and I only hear a little bit of coughing. I'll pick up some Mucinex tomorrow for her. I've heard many good things about it. Poor kid has to me so sore from all that coughing Frowner

Thanks! I'm going to check that out tomorrow. She's been coughing alot of that stuff up, but then I think she swallows it (blech!). She's had a few puking spells today from it. It's hard because she's still too little to understand to spit it out. As fast as it comes up she swallows. I just hope i'm not awoken in the middle of the night with a "mommy! I throwed up!"

You know what's better than any medication? Fluids. Lots and Lots of fluids. Water, juice, popsicles, gator aid, whatever she's willing to take. Aside from that it sounds like you are doing everything you can. I hope she starts to feel better soon.

Oh yea. She's been on a steady diet of OJ and Black Cherry flavored Propel water as well. She just coughed herself out of bed...literally. This is going to be a long night I think. *sigh*

I'm a big fan of standing in the bathroom with the hot water running to create steam. Helps settle a coughing fit. My daughter hates that and cries when I take her in there. But crying is not a bad thing as it opens up the airway and helps clear out the congestion. She usually falls asleep after that.

I think I'd be purchasing all the football pads and helmets just to get him through the toddler years!! I've been lucky that neither me or my kids has ever had serious injuries!! (knock on wood immediately to prevent the youngest from falling down the stairs tonight)

Callie is definitely the clumsiest one out of the bunch and she's the one now taking ballet and doing excellently!!

Karate helped reduce my daughter's clumsiness, in addition to the other benefits like discipline, respect, learning self defense, etc.

LOL...funny stories. Smiler

My lauren was never really clumsy..but man! Anyone have one of those kids that is a closetalker...is like RIGHT ON YOU..and an INCH from your face when they talk to you....they have to actually LEAN ON you to talk to you?? LOL ....that's Lauren. Or she has to be touching your arm, face or shoulder to talk to you...LOL

Actually she is the Artist of the bunch...she paints, draws and is a semi-pro "Flamenco" dancer....she is naturally talented.....and yet, naturally lazy. LOL Go Figure.

I think that putting Callie in dance was one of the best moves I've made...she's only been there 2 months and the difference in her personality...she seems more mellowed out and listens much better to me, but they are really strict at her dance school which is what i believe is causing it...

Paul, I don't have that problem with the kids talking, but Ricky has to yell pretty much to talk (he is almost deaf in one ear, had surgery in December, follow up in May to see if he needs a hearing aid) and all of my kids are demainding...if they call me and I don't answer right away all you hear is Mom, mom, mom...and each time it increases 10 decibels!!

I am soo hoping that between the 3 kids I get the best of all worlds, Ricky can be into sports, Callie girley, and Caity can be a mixture....in a perfect world......
