I recently moved my son (who just turned 3) into a transition bed. It was a struggle for a few nights, but now he's gotten settled into a bedtime routine. The only thing is he suddenly feels the need to sleep with me. We share a room, so it's not hard for him to get into my bed .. but he's never ever slept with me, unless he was sick. Now he won't fall asleep at night unless it's in my bed - I then move him to his own bed, but usually in the middle of the night I'm awoken to a little cute voice saying "Mommy, move over!" and he's with me again....

I guess I don't mind him sleeping in my bed, but it's just been odd because like I stated, he's never ever slept with me, it's not something I ever started with him as we share a room, so I'm always right there.

Any ideas why suddenly he's needing to sleep in my bed and maybe ways to break him of it? It's hard to go from having a bed to yourself to having someone in it! lol Even more so when it's a someone who likes to move around a lot and I often get kicked or hit in the face. Razzer

Don't worry, my son did the same exact thing to me when I put him in his first bed. We also shared a room and I'd wake up with him halfway under me (we move around a lot when we sleep) Sometimes I'd stumble off to bed exaused from my day to him spread eagle dead center in my bed. It's a pain but he will get over it. Does he fall out of the bed before he gets in your bed? I woke one night when he fell out of bed and he was in my bed in no time. Maybe he fell out of bed and it scared him. Now he just feels better in mommys bed. If you find him in your bed, just pick him up and put him in his bed. Good luck.

Maybe he dos'nt even realize that he is coming into your bed my 6 year old comes into my bed every night, on night after she had been in her bed asleep for a few hours I went up to her room to check on her and was watching her and she opened her eyes and walked down to my room and got into my bed and fell right back to sleep, I could tell she was sleepwalking. Maybe it is just something he is doing automaticly
