my son is 5 months old, and he's almost sleeping through the night. his only problem is, his diapers leak. EVERY NIGHT!! i have to wash his crib sheets every day. i've tried every brand of diapers and i cant find ones that wont leak when he sleeps at night. its driving me and him crazy! if i could just get him dry diapers, he would sleep through the night, and i think we would both be alot happier! PLEASE HELP!!!!

That's not fun for either of you. The diaper isle used to have inserts to put into diapers for extra absorbency. It's has been 11 years for me since diapers but it is worth a look.

I found that Pampers worked the best for me but even they weren't 100%. What about putting those plastic undies overtop that they make for infants? That will at least keep him drier. If not, see if you can double up on the diapers?? lol

Good luck.

Try using Pampers and the next bigger size. You can optimize by using Pampers for the nights only (and use cheaper diapers for the day).

I tried the plastic over covers but found they created soreness around the leg joints to the body with moisture as the skin couldn't breathe and if the skin was wet it added to the situation because it trapped her pee-pee and made the skin sore.I found Pampers and Huggies worked the best.

I had to use huggies for this issue..but had to make sure my son was "pointed in the right direction" and that the extra diaper material around the legs weren't tucked in the elastic.

I really like lovs diapers and they are a little cheaper than the other brands. I have done like Red said put a bigger diaper on at night. If he is in a 2 put a 3 on him only at night, this way you are not spending more money than you need to on diapers.
I have had the same problem as you. It won't last forever.

I read in consumer reports lately that Luvs is the best buy for the money.

My fave were Huggies. They're more expensive but it was worth it to me so I didn't have to deal with leakiness. I hated Pampers---went to Huggies and never tried anything else.

I myself always used pampers as well and didn't have much of a problem with except for a few occasions. As Big B suggested, it seemed to be whatever direction his little thing was pointing to as to if it leaked or not. As for the plastic pants, they're leaking with my 4 year old and giving him a rash, the first one ever I might add with using pampers, which is why I never switched to anything else. I guess it's all a matter of preference. I also got up in the middle of the night to change him when he was that little so that might of helped as well. Good luck to you. If it makes you feel any better, my four year old who is now potty trained, still soaks the bed everynight too.

My 5 yr old on occation wents through his pull up at bed time. I determined it has to do with which way he was pointing.

i've tried every brand of diapers and i prefer pampers cruisers. i tried the diaper doublers, but they didnt work either. i tried "pointing him in the right direction" too. as of right now though, the only thing that works is changing him at 4 am, which is not easy when your half awake! (im sure you all have been there!) well hopefully it'll get better! thanks guys!!

Did you try putting him in the next size up at night? That's what I did when they would leak through. I have 5 boys and it worked on everyone. I hope it does get better for you. You need sleep too.

Have you tried Huggies "Overnites"? They worked pretty good for my son.

Hello,
Your baby is beautiful! May I ask when do you feed him last and is he drinking juice at all. My oldest son did the same thing. I too had to change the sheets every day. I found that if I gave him juice in the daytime not in the evening that worked sometimes. After he got past 6 months old this issue got better. The insert is a good idea, as well as the Luvs a size larger. Also, since he is a boy the way that he is positioned inside the diaper makes a difference as well. Ofcourse, I found that this was some of the problem. I put a changing pad underneath him too to help as well. This helped with changing the sheets and it absorbed the mess so it did not come in contact with his skin or pajamas. That was my concern is how it felt on his skin being absorbed through his clothes. So, the changing pad helped a lot. Not the big fluffy one the small square shaped flat ones. I hope this helps and he is such a beautiful baby! I miss mine being that small.

The grand essentials in this life are something to do, something to love and something to hope for!^Joseph Addison
