SFV JUNKIE!!! |
LOL...So where do you draw a line? IS there no REAL wrong and right? NO black and white? You know, there USED TO BE...LOL....and Honestly I think that's the real problem with society nowadays....according to that type of thinking everyone's sense of right and wrong is correct..and no one can judge someone else...LOL...Just throw what God says out...cause that's only one of a billion ways to interpet right and wrong. Sorry, KIMMIE.....didnt mean to lecture...I keep forgetting how "OLD" I am. LOL I'm a man of many mysteries and sides....SO many I'm practically round!! |

Apperantly not, there really isnt a right or wrong, black or white in the world, yes i may be 'young', but im not stupid. Everyone in this world is different with different views, you cant judge anyone elses life (or parenting skills), because yah it may seem weird to you, but its normal to them. And yes everyone does judge others, i do it, but generaly in the real world (aka not the computer) i keep it to myself, i hate people who are so closed minded that they think its their way or the hi-way. because yah i cant believe how some people act and some of the things people let their kids do makes me cringe, but its their life, and people can think what they want, but im pretty sure if the tables we're turned the other people would think the exact same thing about you and the way you run your life. And im assuming by the way you have said 'God' so much, that you are a very religious man (assuming, i could be verrry wrong here, and if i am im sorry lol) but jmo but many people who base their whole life around the church, i find to be the most closed minded of everyone and also the biggest hypocrytes, my verry catholic friends family just had baby number 8..they never miss a week at church, yet they got pregnant before they were married, my freind has done more drugs then most ppl, she had sex with her first bf, and now 3 yrs later pretends none of anything happend, and goes back to judging others for doing the same stuff her family has done in the past. It makes me mad when people throw the 'God' excuse into it, because he is 'perfect' and no one else is, so u cant compare what people do or how people are to him. And yes it is just one of a billion ways to see things.
I think thats whats great about todays world, everyone can be themselfs, run their lifes the way they want and live happy (to their standards) at least in Canada..and thats awesome, im glad it is the way it is, and hopefully it'l keep being an open society for my kids! Sorry i just really hate closed minded people (not saying you or anyone here is) but yah, i generaly am ok with everyones different opinions, except when their opnions are that everyone should think like they do, lol (again, not saying thats the way you are, your obviosuly jsut a very expressive person like myself, lol) |

OOOOOh Weee!!1 Things are getting a little heated here. Can I just interject? I'm a pretty liberal person. Anyone who reads my posts can see that. But, there is no difference between conservatives judging us and us judging them. I used to have that attitude that all conservative people were just closed minded and had nothing to offer me since they were judgemental. But if you actually take the time to know people you see that most people, conservative or liberal, are just people doing the best they can, and in this case trying to protect their kids. Can we not have respect for each other without having to agree?

Then you aren't hanging around the right christian people! There are hypocrites in every religion, and you say you hate when people judge other people, but aren't you being a tad bit judgemental yourself? People look at my family and friends and wouldn't a first glance think we were "typical christian" people. Everyone in my family has tattoos my sister in law has dread locks and a nose ring, and my baby had a mohawk. And our lives revolve around our church, and reaching other people. This is kind of a hot spot with me, to "christians" we aren't christian enough, but to everyone else we are hypocrites! |

I'd have to agree with that...same here...you look at me, walkin in the door and most people think I'm there to beat their ass...not, give them a hug, talk to them...and see how their doin. Kimmie...there's an old saying that says "If you arent grounded in something, then you'll fall for anything". There is no "rational" way that everyone can be right....there are NOT mulitple realities....ok...maybe when someones taking a hit off a bong, yes...but not in the real world. The mere fact that rational logic says the realities would intersect by mere existence refutes the fact of full multiple realities and truths... by saying that you cant judge...that there are no right and wrong, you are saying that everyone has there own reality, and that I'm sorry is not possible...at least not in this dimension. Boy are we way off topic. Kimmie, we will agree more as you get older...like I always tell my daughter and her friends. You dont even know, what you dont know. and: It's amazing how as YOU get older I get smarter, why is that? LOL I'm a man of many mysteries and sides....SO many I'm practically round!! |

No, there are not multiple realities. But there can be multiple perceptions on the same reality. I can respect your perspective without agreeing with it. And a grown person who is confident in their own views does not need ANYONE else to validate them. Kind words can be short and easy to speak, but their echoes are truly endless. Mother Teresa |

I guess it all depends on your beliefs....In my home there are certain rules...and I believe I take everything into consideration when it comes to my son wanting things such as mohawks, or coloring hair...for one I look at how responsible he is to make his own decisions and right as of yet he is not so there is no way he is going to get the coloring in his hair that he wants. We can agree on something light like maybe a bit of blonde streaks etc..that is not getting too much attention. Again it is not because it is right or wrong, for me it is simply a form of respect. I wouldn't want him going to a job interview with this huge mohawk so if I wouldn't hire someone because their mohawk distract the customers, I wouldn't hire him. So if it is not respectable he aint getting one. WHen he is older and (moved out of my house) if he wants to get one he can use his own money to do so. There are just certain things I will not support as a parent and again it is not a question of right or wrong, it is simply my preference as a parent that he understands that what he thinks about he will bring about and that goes with what he choses to wear....if you want to be a street gang member one will dress like one, act like one and think like one. If you want to get an office job, then you think like one, act like one and dress like one...for me as a parent it is teaching the end result of what one wants to attract in their life. Now piercing for me, it would depend on how discreet it is. So for me all things I think are taken into consideration in my situation. Every family is different, and every person is different in terms of views, opinions and beliefs. I may be wrong, I may be right...but parenting is a learning process and as parents we learn from our mistakes. No one is perfect.

hmmm, I am at this post late, pitty, both my girls have piercings, we are not a ozzy and harriet family type unit, so its ok if my girls express themselves within reason. I draw the line at tat's and piercing in weird places, they can wait tell they are adults. I realize people will look down their noses on me for this. One thing everyone may consider on the piercings, if you don't give them a little leahway when they are younger they might dive off the deep end when they are older, simple because the breaks are off. Anyway thats my take on it.
Never take someone for granted. Hold every person close to your heart because you might wake up one day and realize that you've lost a diamond while you were too busy collecting stones... |
