I am in the Birmingham area and I would love to converse or know of any support groups here, especially anybody that doesn't have the support of their familes i.e, their children's grandparents, aunts, uncles, etc. I do not know my own father and my mother is an alcoholic with no desire to recover. Don't want to sound pathetic here, but it IS a bit lonely, esp. knowing my daughter has no grandparents, and I can't seem to trust anyone long enough to even allow them to babysit. Well, I'd rather keep her with me all the time anyway, but she DOES need her own social circle and friends too! I'm sure she's sick of looking at me all day everyday! Plus, I am trying (very HARD) to find work and it's a little hard with an 11 mo old in tow. It seems like we could all band together and take turns with the kids.... errr, if anyone else is in the same situation.

I'd like to just talk to others that might be in the (relatively) same situation as I am in. I know I CAN'T be alone...?

Maybe I AM pathetic. I never realized just HOW until I put it in print. Ya'll will forgive me, won't you? ;-)
