Hello all I'm new here, and new to being a single father. Not sure what else to say, still a bit shell shocked. Anyway if anyone wants to say g'day and share thier experience it would be great.
All the best
Cheers Pagan

Hi Pagan and welcome. Shell-shocked and new, sounds like me 5 years ago. That's how long I've been officially a single mum. It can be a bit overwhelming at times (especially at first) but does get easier. How are you doing? Do you have friends and family that support or are there for you to talk to? That will sure be a big help if you are fortunate to have a support network. You'll find a lot of people that can identify with you here. Welcome again! Smiler

Hey Jennie
thanks for the welcome. It feels good to talk to people who have been through this. Just to bring you up to speed my parents live out of state, and we don't realy speak often, christmass, birthdays and suchlike. My inlaws have both passed away, but i have some good friends who are supportive.
Thanks again for the welcome
Cheers

Good to know that you have some friends that give support. I was living in South Africa when I became a single mum. My parents were (and still are) in Canada. I was amazed at how great friends could be. Even now back in Canada, my colleagues have become immensely supportive, to the point of picking up the boys and dropping them off at their before school programmes for me, when I'm off sick. Go well! Smiler

Hi Pagan.. nice to see a fellow single parent from Australia..

I am new to this forum, have been a single parent now for 4 years. Deal with each day as it comes.. and look for the positives.
"For tomorrow the sun will also rise. Who knows what the tide will bring?" Some days are great, others leave me wondering if the "shell shocked" state will ever leave!
My kids and I are happy most of the time.. and thats what counts! Karma reigns and the truth will be known in the end.

Take care,
Morgaine Smiler
