Deep fried turkey is DEEEEEEEEElicious. Just read all the cautions, and be very careful doing it. Every year a lot of people get burned and/or catch their houses on fire. But yeah, it's real good eating......
This year I imagine will be same as last...my brother will likely be doing dinner (including deep fried turkey) and he'll invite us over...and all I'll have to do is supply a couple pies Smiler And if that somehow falls through then I'm in trouble, cause I won't cook turkey for just me, and my daughter is now recently a vegetarian Roll Eyes

¿Puedo venir yo?
That would be different. I get tired of holiday routine, year after year, after year, after year...hay caramba. Wink

How far are you from Keene, NH? Been to Keene, that's why I ask.

My oldest informed me she will be spending Thanksgiving in California with her boyfriend. I will miss her and still do today, but at least she's getting to travel.

I never have plans laid out ahead of time. I like to try- but never do. My holiday plans usually end up being last minute because my parents can never decide ahead of time what they are going to do. I hate having to spend holidays alone, and my parents forget the fact that they are now the only family I have- its not like I have the ILs to switch years with- and at this point, its not like I have a husband to enjoy the holidays with either.

Last year I was alone on Thanksgiving. My parents decided at the last minute to go to their friends house, and my roommate when to her familys house- so we made turkey sandwiches and had mashed potatos. It was a very sad time for me.

So, it might just end up bieng turkey sandwhiches again this year, Im not sure. I am once again dreading the holidays- cause a lot of it I am left to figure out on my own. I know my parents dont intentionally do things without me during the holidays- but they do, and it hurts and gosh, have I mentioned how much I HATE being alone Frowner

When I lived in FL my son was 1 1/2 and I was single then as well. (My ex and I separated for almost a year then.) We decided to have Thanksgiving on the beach. We had so much fun we didn't even think about being alone for the holiday. I moved to Minneapolis 2 weeks later and we spent Christmas with friends, but I really had a great time that year, even though we were alone, because we could enjoy the time together.

We deep fry a turkey every year and we then follow with deep frying some sweet potatos. But Don is right, lots of idiots try to use it in their garage and end up starting big fires. LOL

This year Kai's birthday is the day before so we are going to have a Birthday/Thanksgiving celebration. Smiler Always the day before or after Thanksgiving but never that day Smiler

I will probably be alone but I am planning on making it fun!
I will take my little one to the Macy's day Parade, perhaps we will get an expensive dinner and watch people stare!
They may be "feeling bad we are sitting alone'
I will be laughing at them wasting their time feeling bad...just flip it(or down some booze, life is too short)
LOL
I mean life is what you make it....
Who says you are alone ?
Once you leave the house people are all around.
It would be great to know that there were moms in your state who were alone and why not all go out to dinner together ?
Now that would be a swell idea!

lovin' being a single mom

Ashlee and I are going to try and spend it with Al or else we will be alone, I am going to look at a place this week to move and if that works out we will maybe go out to dinner alone. It sucks when your family wants nothing to do with you and your SO is very sick and may not make it much longer.
