I am a single mom of an almost 2 1/2 yr old girl. I am a new member, and after reading this board for a few minutes, I feel like a complete wimp! I feel soooo stressed and OVERWHELMED with ONE child. OMG, I would be embarassed to post any complaints or problems with my life (like now) because everyone else seems to have so many more things going on. So why am I having such a hard time? Frowner

Hey Juju, post away. Sometimes one child is all it takes to need to vent, seek advice, or just feel some support in general. It's all good here.
Welcome to the forum.

JuJu,

Why do you feel so overwhelmed?

a. because you are a single mom
b. because you have a 2 1/2 yr old

That is enough.

Welcome, and please join in some more.

I am 34 years old and I have one child. I too get overwhelmed at times. It's a big responsibility and there's no one there to help. Give yourself a break. Parenting is hard with 2 parents under the best of circumstances.

I'm sure you're doing the best you can. That is what your child will come to realize as well.

Well I too only have one child and he is now 4 but I remember feeling a lot more stressed when he was 2, that can be a tough time. I have so much admiration for people here that are parenting a whole bunch of kids on their own! Dont feel shy for a second about posting here, I know for me my ups and downs are not anywhere near as difficult as some people have to face but I have never received anything but support from the people here and just reading other peoples problems and the support that others give is often enough to help me where I am at.

I know how it feels. My son will be 2 in June, but he is already a whilrlwind! You should see my living room after he goes to bed. Some nights I feel like I should be applying for FEMA, just to be able to clean my house! But, when he comes running to mommy for hugs and kisses (and maybe a raspberry on the tummy), I just remember why it's all worth it. Especially with the job I have. So believe me honey, you are no wimp just because you have one child. And welcome!
:welcome: :huggies:

Please don't feel like ur problems are not hard enough to post about. Just being a single parent to one child or five its just as hard. I was a sinlge mom to one little boy until Dec. 29 and I was overwhelmed w/just my one son at times. Please don't feel that ur a wimp or not good enough to post. Know what everyone here is in the same boat just at different ports in the sea.

So please post away and u'll get some great advice, support or whatever it is u need. If anything come here for some laughs. Trust me the laughs do come here.

Hope to see u around here more often.

I am a single mother of an almost 3 year old girl. It can definately be overwhelming at times. Just always remember that there are lots of people here who care and will talk about whatever you need to vent about. Welcome!
