I am a new mother looking for a way out. I am trying to figure out where I fit in in life. I am still with the father of my child and every day I go through emotional abuse.

No one here can give you a way out. Those of us that got out (rather than being the one that was left) had to make up our own mind as to what was the right time or when we had "just had enough". I understand the emotional abuse. It has to be your decision to go or to stay. YOU will not change your partner. Looking back, I felt emotionally and financially a prisoner. I stayed about 8 years too long but, in regards to my daughter and the current visitation set up, it was best for me to stay.
