Hello everyone. I am new to this site. I have not wrote in any place like this. I have a couple of issues to see if anyone can help me with. First- I just started going back to school but I need help with my bills. Does anyone know where or how to go about getting grants beside the pell grant? I already have that one.
Second- Does anyone know where to get legal help for low income mothers? I want to get custody of my daughter but I can not afford to do it on my own. She is almost 2 (in december) and has deadbeat "father". If anyone could help me out, that would be great.
Thanks

Want to say hello, I'm sure that somebody with helpful tips and information will respond soon. Have you called your local DFC office?

You can file for custody and have your filing fee's waived. If the dad is a deadbeat and doesn't show up for court, it will be a very short process. Look online for volenteer lawyer programs in your area. These are free if you qualify. Go to your Financial aide office and ask them about obtaining more financial aide. There are grants out there for single moms that help pay bills so you can continue to go to school, and others that cover things like books and tuition. You have to explain all your needs so they know how to help you. Good Luck
