Getting My Feet (Board) Wet
Posted
I took my kiddo to the zoo yesterday and realized something kind of shocking...
This is what happened... I took Nolan into the restroom to change his diaper and I managed to not get anything on me. But as soon as I picked him up, he spit up about 2oz all over my chest. I never thought to pack a change of clothes for myself so as I'm standing at the sink with him in one arm and a paper towel in my other hand trying to clean myself up, a lady came out of the stall and laughed. She said, "Wear it proud, girl...someday you'll miss it." It took me a minute to realize what she meant. But it made me laugh. Maybe enfamil should come out with a perfume to remind mommies of their babies. They say smells trigger memories more than any of the other senses.
I never thought I'd be okay with being spit-up on. Sometimes I think he's trying to say, "Now you smell like my mommy." I think I've crossed over into a strange place called mommy-hood.

Cute. Funny how that one little encounter in the washroom is something you will probably remember for years to come! It is true, too.

I swear my son spit up on me a million times a day and it drove me crazy but he finally go out of the habit and yes I missed it. Know y b/c he was growing up and that was one less baby thing I had. Now my daughter does a lot and yes I get frurated b/c I want to look nice but then I remind myself that HELLO you're going to miss that.

It is so nice to hear that people have memerable experiences like you had. Cherish your baby, children grow up too fast. My grandmother used to tell me that she was going to stick me in the deep-freeze freezer when I was little to keep me that size and it scared me because I had no idea what she was talking about. Now that I am grown and have my own kids I get what she was saying. We need to hold onto our kids and enjoy the time that we have with them. Thanks for sharing that. Take care.
