Happy Thanksgiving all! Hope you all at home enjoying feasts of turkey and the like instead of at work like me.

My name is Amy and I have a 5 month old daughter, obviously named, Caitlin. I got pregnant by an exboyfriend when we were talking about possibly getting back together. I an overy disorder and didn't end up finding out I was even pregnant until I was 6 months along and back home in another state. I know what all you women are thinking right now: How the *&$% did I not know? Well, I didn't gain any weight before then, I was living in a dilapidated apartment in Illinois that was too deplorable to even describe (therefor I thought I was getting sick from that) and, having never been pregnant before, I didn't know that the funky feeling inside me was a baby moving. Needless to say, I called him a week after I found out and this was our conversation: "I'm pregnant." him: "what?! I didn't let anything happen!" "well I am and it's not the virgin birth" "well I'll pay you child support and that's it." a week later he calls me and tells me that he's sorry and wants to be as involved as he can from 700 miles away. He tells me that he told his parents. LIAR. Since that conversation in April, I haven't heard anything from him. Not even an email. He's changed his email and his phone number so I can't even find him. I know he's got p.o.s. job so I'd get like 10 bucks a month for support so I've dealt and am now enjoying being able to have my daughter all to myself. My parents are EXTREMELY supportive, letting me live with them rent free, and my mom baby sits while I work. I couldn't do it with out them. This is, so far, a wonderful journey that I'm glad I'm able to experience.

Nice to meet you Amy. That's great that your parents allow you to live with them and help you out with Caitlin. You're very lucky to have such a great family. :welcome:

That's horrible what he did, i'm only a few weeks, actually not even sure since i was on seasonal and didn't know exactly when i concived. I find out my due date after a sonagram this tuesday. Anyway, as soon as i found out the father started begging me to get an abortion, and once i told him no,for the past few weeks he pretty much stopped talking to me. It's so discusting how people can click off any basic human decentcy and walk away from there own flesh and blood. I'm pulling for yah!!!

i'm not bitter or angry...i figure, what's the point. it will only take away from the joy that my daughter gives me. when she's old enough, if she wants to know about him, we'll talk. but i won't go out of my way for him. good luck trying2bestrong! it's frustrating but you'll be ok and mommyhood is really fun and a joy. (i say that now because she's only 5 months...lol)
