I am New to SFV
Posted
Hi! I'm a single mom with a 21 month old daughter. I'm new to this but thought I'd give it a try. It's hard raising her by myself...her father isn't in the picture...so I thought I could meet some new people who knew what my situation was like...some people just don't get it.

Let me be the first to welcome you to our little corner of the world!! I love this place, I truly do. I don't what I would do without these people to give me advice, to laugh with me, to cry with me, to be there when I need them. The support here is amazing, and I have so much respect for everyone here. This site holds a special place in my heart, and if you jump in and participate, I just know you'll feel the same way. So, one again, welcome!! What part of GA are you in, by the way??

~Hugs~

I'll be the second to welcome you! Smiler Smiler :welcome:

I know what it's like to raise kids on my own. I've raised my son for 8rys and I have another due in 3wks! I'll being raising both on my own. I know what you mean by people not getting it. I have friends that are married and have kids. They are always treating me like I'm some mommy goddess or somthing. Yeah it's nice to get the respecst somedays. At the same time treat me like a normal mommy b/c I go thru simliar things like they do too.

Neither dad is in the pic either for my kids but to be honest I enjoy being able to have the advantage of rasing my kids the way I want too. I dont' have t listen to the all knowing dad's advice LOL! I've decied just give me an extra income and I would be fine rasing my kids on my own. Know what I mean!?!?LOL

Anyways hope to see you around and enjoy your time here b/c its a fun place to be.

MaddiesMommy,
Welcome. Please stick around and join in. Life as a single parent is difficult but, oh so rewarding. It is a little easier for me when I have SFV to come to for advice, and the laughs (many laughs).

I've been very lucky to find many friends that are single mothers and the first thing they say to me when I explain my day is "finally!" someone understands what I'm going through. It's hard for people to understand what it's like doing things alone. Welcome and make lots of friends. By the by my story... I'm Monica I have a 3year old boy named Ethan.

Welcome to the board. This is a great place, I don't know what I would do without it. It is a great place to come and unwind, to share your stories of joy and horror of being a parent. It is great to have people to talk to who have gone through it all, after being on here for a while you finally start to feel like you arn't alone, there are others who have been through the same things, who know how it is, you really just have to know where to find them. I hope you use this site to your advantage. Good luck!
