I am New to SFV |
Just wanted to get some support. I have a small family and my friends droped off like hot cakes, my son is three gonna be 4 and I still do not have a support group or even know other mothers. his birthday is in APril and have no one to invite to his party. So, basically I am alone, lonely recently broke up with my live in boyfriend and his two kids. So I am mourning that loss and my son is mourning the loss od seeing his kids. Fortunatly his father has been stepping it up, but he is far from "father of the year" if you know what I mean. I am trying to keep my head up in a world full of dream buster. What do I do? and why don't I have friends???

Hi welcome to the forum.
What do you do? Go and find some incredible friends. Here is a good start, but how about joining community groups of some sort in your area? Your child will love the interaction. Writing a guide for personal change, fullment and discovery for children with dead beat parents. If you as a parent, or the child have a story to share, would love to include it. |

HI thanks.
I just started at working at a large investment firm in the operations department and they are paying for me to take the Series 7 exam, so I am taking advantage of that. My son just started in Karate and I been talking to a lady there but she seems like she might be trouble. Not sure. Where in the community should I start to look for PEOPLE? ANYONE? ARE THEY OUT THERE? I feel like I am on earth alone! lol For instance, an Old old friend called me the other day and said hey come over and hang out on new year's just me and you and our kids. I was like ok, cool. Talked to him at 6 everything was cool. Called at 9 about to come over and no answer... Do these people just thing this is funny? I am starting to think this is a mean joke. |

Maybe he was just in the bathroom when you called.
Good that your son is taking up karate, you can then invite his classmates to his birthday party. As for you joining a community, are there churches near your area? I think it's the best place to find friends and a support group. An oh, welcome to the forums by the way. |

I feel weird about invviting his Karate friends.. my son has only been going for 2 months and doesn't have any real conections there. Do you think I should invite people from his daycare? The church I go to is all older people, not many young moms... any other ideas?
Thanks for the help |

Welcome to the group.
It takes time to meet friends. But it can get lonely in the meantime. I met most of my new friends through church. |
