Up until recently I've had help with daycare from my childs father. But now he has quit his job and is watching Elissa during the day while I work. As of today I will no longer allow this. He is slowly poisoning her against me and has made constant threats towards me and my family. My question to all of you... How do I go about getting child care assistance from the government? Up until we seperated I was a stay home military wife/mom. I start school part time at the end of August and working about 25hrs a week. There is no way to pay for daycare by myself and I don't want to leave her everyday with the father. Any advise would be incredible.

Sorry to hear that you are going thru this Amber. Try contacting your local DES and asking about child care assistance. In AZ you are put on a scale based upon your income and they go from there...most of the time there is a waiting list. Good luck. As far as the father is concerned...have you set up child support?

Hey, just try and research locally on the web about childcare providers in your area. In Ohio we have this thing called vouchers-it's a great help. You pay part of the payment, they do the rest. You have to be financially qualified for it though(can't have a big income). I also suggest using newspapers and just visiting daycare providers one by one to be safe. I hope this helps. I know how it is trying to find reliable help...

i think catholic charities helps out. you don't have to be catholic, either. I have a friend who got assistance from them and she only pays like $100/month.
