Is there anyone else out there who needs a break from everything. I feel so drained and tired, everywhere i turn somebody needs something,I go to the bathroom my children are in there waiting for me, i go in my bedroom they come up there with me, right now while I am typing this letter my five year old is talking my head off. PLEASE tell me how yal get some you time. I know that it is possible at least i hope it is.

Well, I always say that I can't even take a xxxx alone without my daughter coming into the bathroom (well now that she is older she understands not to come in), What I did to get some alone time is to get up at 5:30 am to have coffee and read the papers on line, answer my emails, etc. before that bundle of energy wakes up.

Get this: my 3 year old seems to think that it's okay for her to be in the bathroom when I'm in there but it's not okay for me to be in there when she's in there!?!?!? I'm trying to show her that I dont want her in there for the same reasons that she doesn't want me in there.
I absolutely know what it feels like when you need a break from your child/ren. Half the time I can't go into the kitchen to make dinner without Kai trying to crawl back in the womb. lol My suggestion: find a hobby. Personally, I scrapbook. Kai has her own scrapbook stuff and she does hers while I do mine. I set up her scrapbook stuff on her desk in her room, turn on her tunes and let her jam and color. She loves it! My guess would be that you might wanna try finding out what activities they love to do and then tell them "Mommy needs mommy time (or daddy) and they need to do their own thing so you can do your own thing. TIme alone is possible. A friend actually suggested that I tell my daughter that mommy needs a time out and then I sit in my room for about 10 minutes without the tv on, no music, no nothing. Just sit there, and relax. It helps a lot! I'm sure lots of people on the site have other things they do to help them de-stress. SOmetimes just a night out by yourself to a movie or even with a good book to the coffee shop is a good thing. I hope you are finding some time to yourself. We all need it every now and then. |
