Has anyone experenced any problems with the depo shot?

I've been on for about 7 months and have yet to feel normal again. I knew that I would feel a little off(I wont go into details) for awhile but 7 months!! I'm wondering if I should maybe switch to IUD. Any suggestions would be great!

I stopped taking that shot about 4 years ago and what I remember from it I did have mood spells and I gained weight each time I got the shot. I don't know anything about IUD.

I've got a girlfriend who swears by depo. She isn't interested in ever having kids actually, and loves the freedom of not having monthly visits. BUT my dr doesn't want to prescribe it to me. He has suggested the IUD saying they are much more safe. That's the route I will most likely go once I forget what labour was like ;D

My girlfriend was on it for a while before we met; says she gained 40lbs lickety split and had some pretty killer headaches, migraines even. Got back off it as soon as humanly possible.

I had the same experiences. Depression, (but that could have been from me living with the evil ex at the time.) weight gain.
I got the IUD after my last pregnancy. I was scared of it at first, but I'm glad I did it. It is the closest thing to 100% next to sterilization.

i got that depo, i got so depressed and cranky, mood swings flying all over the place. Heard the IUD is really good though.
