I saw the baby's heartbeat today! And it's growing!!!Told the dad...don't really know why I bothered, and he asked if I was on my way to start the adoption process. He's worthless. Bad news is things aren't going well as far as getting assistance, not good at all actually. I go back to the doctors tonight, we'll find out if I stay on light duty or not. I'm kinda bummed, but happy at the same time! Just thought I would share..

This is wonderful news Kelly!!! I'm so happy for you!

I say don't call the dad again. If he wants to be a part of you and the babies life, he can call you.

What type of assistance? Anything we can do to help??

Let us know what the doctor says. I'm so excited for you!!!

I applied for any and all assistance available..cash, food, medical, everything. Unfortunately they are still going by my income because I will get one more pay this friday, which makes me ineligile. I need to figure out how I'm going to pay my rent, my car, all my bills, insurance...all that good stuff! I'm really worried about it all, but I keep thinking of the little heartbeat I saw this morning! Makes everything else disappear, if only for a minute.

Does that mean you are no longer going to be working?

If so, when can you reapply? Makes no sense why they don't weigh in the fact that you will only get one more check. Have you checked the eligibility guidelines to make sure they are going by the guidelines?

There are some places you can go for emergency assistance. May be a good idea to start a thread of 'Need advice on Emergency Assistance.' I'm not familiar with the resources but some people here may be.

Hugs and prayers,
MJ

Great news Kelly and glad to hear that you're baby is doing fine. Forget the dad. Sometimes the only thing these man were worth for was the sperm donations. Just forget him and keep your chin up. You and your baby will be fine.

Kelly,
I'm only familiar with the workings here in NY... but you should be able to reapply asap. You can get a letter from your employer that you have had to terminate employment... as well as from your doctor. Disability may also be an option if a doctor said no working. You may be able to find an agency that can advocate for you in these areas. These things are never easy (lots of paper work and unhappy workers) but it can be done. If I can help with anything feel free to ask.
