OK, so I realize that I am my own worst critic but lately I've been finding that I am not the "shape" I thought I was. I certainly don't feel as much as the scale tells me I weigh. I am having a really hard time with this. I am trying to find ways to work out but after working all day and taking care of Kai, I have no energy left and it's hard. Eeker I have been told to eliminate carbs but when I do, I feel worse. Anyone have any advice. I feel so unlike myself and it's really starting to affect my everyday life.

I did Weight Watchers online and it really helped. I didn't lose all that much through it, about 7 lbs but I was just beginning it when soon after I split up with my ex and then well, the weight totally fell off due to the stress.

I found WW to work great though, healthier choices but definitely not unmanagable and you can eat the foods you enjoy, no sticking to specifics. Worth a shot to feel a bit more energized and positive about yourself!

(I did not go to meetings or anything, just used the online part of it)

Aaaawww smshybug! Cheer up! I hear ya - it's so difficult working exercise time into our already busy schedules. One thing you have to look forward to is that Kai will be up walking before long - that will be exercise for you.

What kind of diet do you have? The carb diet works well. But - going from a regular amount of carbs to none at all takes away energy. The first few days are the worst. Instead of going on the 'carb diet,' can you cut some bread / carbs out of your diet? Drinking more water will help also.

I am kind of going through the same thing right now. All the sudden my weight seems to be settling differently. Adding exercise - nope - don't have the energy. I try to watch what I eat. I know I can have anything I want (I don't limit types of food,) but I try to not overload on sweets or carbs. Eating three meals or several small ones seems to help alot.

Good luck! Keep your chin up - you will get to where you're used to being.

OK so here's my plan if I can stick with it:

5:30 a.m. 30 minute cardio
Whenever Kai goes to bed - 30 to 60 minutes cardio

Breakfast - Oatmeal/cereal
Lunch - Salad
Dinner - Salad and protein
Snacks - fruit or veggies or protein (yogurt, cheese, etc.)
Eeker

I am trying to cut the carbs out. Breakfast will be the only card. I am going to start this strict diet on Saturday. I am going to try to work out tonight though to get started. I have a bad knee which doesn't help but as Melissa Jo said, my weight has also settled differently . . . right to my ***!

Anyway, I am going to try this and see if it helps. I am just too stressed to start the food thing today but first thing Monday it will be easy. Subway is less than a block from where I work and their salads are cheap. Like $3.25 or something and they fill me up. Plus if I bring chicken from home that will add protein. I can also do a 30 minute walk on my lunch but I dont know this neighborhood.

I try to think, yes I can do this but then I just feel like I have no one there cheering me on. You guys are great though. Thank you so much. I'll be sure to try to keep positive about this. :iloveu:

We will be here to cheer you on!!! Every day. Maybe I will get motivated enough too. I have some pounds to lose and some serious toning!

That plan sounds great!! If you get a chance this weekend, buy some chicken, lettuce, and cheese. It's so much cheaper to bring a salad everyday. Now I'm hungry for cheese! And ready to get motivated... (maybe.) Don't overdue the exercise in the beginning or you will be so sore and exhausted right away!

And I hear ya about the way the weight is settling. I've always had the thighs and lower body weight but now I think it's coming to my stomach. All my clothes are getting too tight. Ah - what'd I'd do to have stick skinny legs! Let's keep a thread going for support!

LOL, stick legs. It's funny you say that because my mom is actually kind of heavy on top but she has these little stick legs. I always tell her "walk faster on your sticks mom". It's hilarious! There's also a joke about sticks but that's for another forum post. Maybe I'll post it later today.

Now I'm hungry to cheese also. That whole stomach thing, after I had Kai, I believe I inherited someone else's stomach, cause it's not mine. I was also thinking of Pilates. Know where I could get some tapes to follow? Books dont go so well with me, they discovery how to fly. Eeker

haha - I have a friend that has slender legs - but they are all muscle. She complains about her belly. Guess we all have specific areas that bother us. I have the 'wonderful' curvy thighs. Ew - if I could just start shaving away!

Yeah - stomachs after babies! I don't see how some get the perfect stomach back. I never will. My weight is starting to settle around my waste. I've never had to deal with this except right after having my babies.

Pilates - Most dept stores have tapes, Amazon. Let me know if you get them and how strenuous they are. Last time I tried tapes, I did half of one gave up on it, tried a different one and eventually gave up on it too. Smiler Roll Eyes Didn't know I was so out of shape!

I want to start dating again and if i want to be happy with someone else, I have to be happy and comfortable with myself first. So I'm looking forward to getting into a "groove". Once I get things going it will be good, it's when I get sidetracked that screws me up. And it's also the getting started that's hard. I won't sacrifice my time with Kai though just to work out.

I lost 45 pounds since I left my X 5 and a half months ago. I eat slimfast bar (oatmeal rasin or the best) for lunch, and then I eat what I want for dinner with in portion control. But if I go out for lunch, I will have soup or salad. But if I end up at Mc Donald's, I will have a happy meal. It is about portion control. Then for dinner I will have salad and very small portion of meat. I haven't really had time to excercise, to busy chasing my son. I now weigh 110 and I'm 5'4"!!!!!! It is so much fun to have obtained my goal. Plus my X can't stand how good I look. Awwwwwwwww......sweet revenge.

That sounds like a plan. Well I just found out a few minutes ago that an army buddy of mine is coming home from Iraq, October 3 . . . he wasn't going to come home until April. I thought I had time. BAH! See what I get for procrastinating. We are just friends, but come on, you never know.

The library is a great source for videos and dvd's to work out too. That way if one doesn't appeal then you haven't spent on the tape.

I do this and like having the variety .

When I lost weight before, I lost it very quickly. But the trick is to get started. I am going to try my hardest to do what I can. I can't put it off any longer. It's starting to affect everything I do. Tonight I will try to do cardio for 30 minutes or so then try some weights. I have a bowflex and I actually kind of hate the thing. I also have free weights so maybe I'll use those instead. The only thing is, is that the bowflex has resistence which is actually what I need.

How come we can't just think of what we want to look like, then open our eyes and POOF we look like that!?!?! Big Grin Hilarious I know but hey, it could happen. Razzer Wink

I want to be 55 pounds lighter. That would make be just below 200. I want to acheive this goal by February 2006. If that does not happen, that's alright but if I lose some weight at all I'll be happy.
