Does any other mothers out there feel as though for fathers day we should be getting the praise, and recognition . My children brought gifts home for fathers day and gave them all to me, I wanted to feel good about it but I felt bad ,bad that my children do not even consider him a dad. I wish there was some kind of way that he could hurt and feel the way that they feel. I dont know just felt like i needed th vent please let me know how you feel about this. Frowner

Just so you know....some of us fathers go through that at Mother's Day. Same thing, the recognition...for us the "Happy Mother's Day dad"
But we can't change those other people or make them be a mother or father. I just try to put that as totally aside as I can, keep on being the mommy/daddy parent as best I can. Thinking about what I can't change anyway is just a waste of energy, better to save that energy because being the mommy/daddy parent...you don't have the energy to spare too often Wink

I just read this post and know how you feel. My son (although he's only 4) has strong opinions of not even calling his dad for father's day even though I've offered him chances several times that day.

As for the cards and stuff they made in nursery school for father's day, luckily i'm still living with my parents (until everything is finalized in court) he made them specifically for his grandpa.

I worked at a day care for a long time and we always tried to be sensitive to the fact that some kids don't have both parents. Usually if they had a Grandparent in their lives we would make something for them. Otherwise they'd just make a card for mom or dad (whichever they had)...
