A friend of mine has a Christmas baby who is now 10yrs old. MF created the half birthday celebration for her child. She celebrates her child's birthday in the middle of the year with a party, cake, the whole 8 yards.

Just an idea.

And a good idea Robin, I grew up with my birthday just a few days after Christmas. Even though it wasn't on Christmas day it always just blended right into the other holidays. Including normally looking at a Christmas wrapped birthday present sitting under the tree for those 3 days after all the other presents were opened. Frowner
You can always still acknowledge the birthday on it's proper day, but a separate celebration I think would make it special.

We do Christmas on Christmas Eve and my nephews birthday on Christmas. It is easier for those who have to go to their inlaws too because they can still get there by dinner if we do a birthday lunch for him. Last year we had a cake with christmas lights all around it (plastic decorative ones) and had happy birthday written in red and green. He loved it. We used to do the half a year celebration like Robin was talking about but he felt short changed at Christmas because he felt like his real birthday was neglected. He is the first kid that has minded it though, that I know of.
