I was wondering if anyone knew of any groups that would help me give my kids a Christmas this year. I am not low income, but I have no extra income, bad credit and no way to get my kids x-mas gifts much less even a x-mas tree. I will not qualify for any of the local groups that only go through the welfare department. I just can't afford to pay my bills, rent, food and have any left over. I really need help, my son is 8 and still believes in Santa so this would be a horrible way for him to find out there is no Santa cause his mom has no $ to get the "santa" gift this year. Please help!

I know that the deadline for United Way applications already passed (at least here) but you might check with some of the local churches and community centers. They do a toy giveaway day at our community center so that even the parents that get "adopted" by businesses through United Way can have some unwrapped presents to give from the parent to the child.

That perches in the soul-
And sings the tune without words-
and never stops-at all...

I think i found a gem of a Christmas Gift....my daughter who is 11 loves everything so buying her a unique gift was hard till last weekend.....I met a young man that worked for the Los Angeles Sparks Basketball team.Make a long story short, they are a professional women's basketball team that plays at staples center. They have a special holiday gift package where if you buy season tickets (i spent $240 TOTAL for 2 tickets to every game) you get to meet Lisa Leslie (star player of the league) get a personalized letter to my daughter from Lisa and a 8X10 photo which can be signed at the meet and greet with her....AWESOME, perfect chance for my daughter to meet a great role model and get her active in sports.

The guys name is Benny, don't know his last name...his phone number is 213-929-1307...really good guy and he will set up

I have to ask solo dad, are you Benny and just trying to make a quick buck?

Cause if the above member doesn't have any extra money for a christmas tree or christmas presents, $240 for season tickets.....well that's just seems like something they probably wouldn't be attempting to do.

Yes KM, I think that was a little rude on his behalf and a little heartless...sorry for speaking my mind in advance...but I have to agree with KM's logic.
