Hello, I am a single mother of a 14 year old & a 16 year old. I have child support that was ordered through the state of Lousiana, but I now live in Georgia. The father of my kids was ordered to pay only $60 a month, 8 years ago! Although I have filed papers with the state of Louisiana, 4 years ago, the amount was increased to $150 per month for 2 kids! Well to make matters worse, the father received a settlement (a year ago) for 1 million dollars...so now I need help to try and find an attorney through the state of Georgia, to take him back to court to increase the child support..please if u have any recommendations or words of support please send them. Whatever you do don't go to Maximus on Peachtree. There is another agency further down Peachtree St. try that one first. If that does not work try the state office. I am trying to collect on an arrears balance of over 1000.00 and Maximus is giving me the hardest time, and his attitude is as long as he is paying something.
