I was talking to some friends from Alaska about my problem with my ex. Here is the short story. He quit a really good job with the state and moved 1000 miles away. Where he is claiming he does not work. So he can not pay child support. His new wife makes a lot of money so in all aspects he would not have to work. Any ways she also has family where they live and he has been working under the table because he told our case worker he has a job but won't tell us where. Then the next time the case worker talked to him he said he wasn't working at all. My friend said in stead of hireing a lawyer, witch in our area is slim pickings and you have to find the less of all evels. They said to hire a p.i. witch would be about 1500 dollars cheaper than a retainer for the lawyer i want. If i get pictures of him working and where i could prove he is a liar. On the other hand what if he is really being a lazy *** and i waste all my time? Has any one been through this or what do you think. It is all such a gamble. I don't know what i should do. It would be nice though to call my case worker and say this is where he is working. Go get the child support.
