I am in need of information about getting the military to enforce a child support order. To make a long story short my ex is overseas in the Army. A support order was issued months ago, but trying to find out where to send the order for enforcement has been a nightmare. I spoke to 1 officer who knew him and told me flat out that he would not help because he didn't agree with the court ordered amount. I am getting the impression that this is really a good ol' boy system. Does anybody have any advice or info that could help me?

Which branch of the military is he in? Were/Are you married to him? Do you have a paternity test proving he is the father? (Not trying to be intrusive, just trying ot figure out where exactly to send you.)

If you are married to him, you can always go to the Judge Advocate General office and file. You also can file the order with the state that you are in, but they will have to run through the military red tape as well. If you are/were not married to him, the JAG will not help you very much.

The military is very strict on there rules about paying child support. You should write down the name of the person who said that he would not help you, and report him when you report your child's father for non-payment of child support.

simple fact is, the military is very very anal about child support issues. the military expects its members to to face up to thier responsibilites. you need to contact the JAG (judge advocate general) at THE BASE HIS UNIT IS STATIONED OUT OF, explain the situation, provide copies of all neccesary documents. the military will make him pay. and, furthermore. the indviduall who refused to help because "he didnt agree" most likely did not have the authority to make that call, and if you chose to push the issue, should be reprimanded for his actions or lack thereof.
