Give it a try! If you can find a way to earn money and be your kids' mom at the same time, I say go for it!

When I went online for it I found in one of the last classes that it is difficult to get a job right off in your home. There are training hours that need to be done outside of the home. I'm sure it is possible but the rare case is working from home immediately. It was like a year - two out of the home.

Hello All...Newbie here...HI

Well I am a medical transcriptionist and work for 4 Hospitals. I do not work from home YET, although after my 1 year probabtion, which is ending soon, home MT is an option that I will GLADLY accept. Smiler Working for a hospital, transcriptionist need at least 1-2 years experience, some cases acute care experience.

I have worked as a transcriptionist for private doctors, (orthopedic and sport medicine). Although, when I worked for private doctors, home MT was not an option.

Working at a hospital isnt all peaches and creamy wonderful either, as some MTs sometimes have to work odd hours, holidays, weekends, swing shift, etc., even from home that schedule is kinda scary and "yucky."
