Hi! I'm here! I work from home too - or at least I'm trying to.....

What's up? I've got wicked cabin fever due to being snowed in for the second time in a week - and the flu.... groan. Fresh air? What's that????

What kind of work are you looking to do? There is a good book out there that may help you. It's called "48 days to the work you love" by Dan Miller. You maybe able to find what you are looking for in the book. Good luck! Big Grin

I'd suggest going to your local library and browsing in the business section. There are a plethora of resources out there. If you want to start your own business, I may have some resources for you. Also if you go to www.sba.gov there are a billion leads on there as well.

However, I am in that process now and I'll vouch that it takes a lot of time, dedication, focus, energy - and money. There are books out there like "Start Your Own Business" from Entrepreneur magazine, "How to Start Your Own Business on a Shoestring and Make Up to $500,000 A Year" and "The Women's Business Resource Guide." I have all three and recommend them.

Otherwise, you can research companies that telecommute. There are many out there. Working Mom magazine had an article on it this past fall.

I also sell Tupperware and Tastefully Simple. Once you build up a strong client base you could be able to support yourself on this. It takes a lot of hard work, though, but it is doable! You work when you want to work and you put into it what you want to. You are your own boss. Neither Tupp nor TS are my main focus, but I do it on the side as I want to focus on my virtual assistant business.

It honestly depends on what you like to do, what your skill set is, what resources you have, etc. There are a wide variety of jobs that can be done from home such as cleaning service, child care, direct sales (Tupp/Tastefully Simple/Avon, etc.), ebay consignment, telecommuting for a company, home organizer, consultants, etc. After you decided on what you would like to do - begin the research, make a game plan and make sure that you're financially ok to make the move - and that you have one heck of a safety net.

As of the moment I'm working from home. I'm doing consultancy jobs for some companies, but maybe a year after I give birth I think I need to take on a full time job since I need to earn more to support my child. I wish there were more opportunities to work from home and earn a decent living from this part of the world.

Xerarose, I actually visited your site (fourpointmoms) and requested for additional info. Unfortunately, they still do not have operations here in Asia. Frowner Maybe il just try to sell Avon products then, though im not really much into sales.

I believe I have been blessed with the ultimate home based business. I am business for myself but not by myself. More importantly, I got started with five e-commerce websites, a back office, an email system connected to the corportate office, $800 dollars in vochers for sales aid materials, online training, phone training, local office training and more for less than $500 dollars. Yup! Beyond that, I could have gotten started for an investment of less than $100 dollars. I opt in for the greater opportunity.
