Hello--

I am new to this site. My kids are 16 and almost 14. For lots of reasons I waited to have my first child when I was 37. My second child was born in September and I turned 40 in January.

My oldest daughter tells me that I shouldn't have bothered because now I am SO old.

Does this sound familiar??

Hi Mountain Town Mom,
I am also almost 50...and both of my kids, ages 22 & 16 think I'm ancient!

I wish I lived in a mountain town.

Hi Mountain Town Mom!
I'm not quite 50...will be next month. My only son is 9! Doctor said I couldn't have children. It took me a while, but, I proved him wrong! Not on purpose. Then, I had to pay the same doctor to tie my tubes! Which I wasn't too sure of. I would have been crazy enough to have another.
Don't get so down on your age. It is after all, only a number. We all age differently. My son is often slightly embarassed of me. I still like to go trick-or-treating with him(in costume). I like to play my music and dance in the living room!
I know how "older" people looked to me when I was their age...like they were ancient! It all changes when you get older. The mind stays young!
Now everyone under the age of 30 looks adolescent to me! Just works in reverse.
Pave your own way. Laugh, dance and don't get to thinking that you are old! One friend of mine said "you're only as old as your spine!" Can you touch your toes? Hope so. Then, you're not old.
Have a great day. :balloons:

I haven't posted in this section before( I beleave all sexes need their space), but I go. I am 47, close to 50, but for the last year people have been saying I look 35, including my girls in tell I told them my age. Don't let the age thing get to you, could be worst, we could be in a rest home where most kids think us "Old folks" belone. Peace

Hello, I'm 54 in March, four kids 37, 28, 26, and 26, and three grandchildren I run between 3 to 4 miles two to three times a week and wear a size 6.
The way you age is your choice. Don't let anyone tell you your age defines you it doesn't but how well you take care of yourself
does.

Don't worry about age -- it truly is only a number! I'll be 46 in May and my son is 7 (will be 8 in August). I'm glad that I am an older parent as I am more mature than when I was in my 20's when most people start having kids. I was ready for a child by the time I had my son -- see things happen the way they do for a reason. Plus that having kids at home in our mid yrs keeps us young! Smiler

hi

I am 50 with a son 12 and twin daughters age 8. I am really glad I waited but I really hate it when the kids ask if I am my childrens grandmother. I love being their Mom.

i am 54 and love it most of the time. been sharing my world with children for over 35 years. i enjoy when people think i am my oldest grandson's mother (i raised him so he is "mine" along with his younger brother). men go in and out of my life, but the children always stay - God's blessings
