My 25 year old son is leaving for Iraq next week. Whenever I talk to him I try my hardest to stay upbeat. With what he's getting into I don't want him worrying about me. I remember when he went to Afghanistan in 2001. I didn't sleep for 8 months. The letters from him and occasional phone call helped me to stay strong. But this time he's going to be gone for at least a year. I have to say even though I'm not a Bush fan and do not like what's going on in Iraq, I back my son and ther other soldiers 100%. They are only doing their job. I just pray no more get killed while there.

I completely understand what you are going through. My brother left this morning to return to Afghanistan. He said that things there are just as bad as in Iraq. The only reason you hear about Iraq is because that's where all the money is.

I am sorry your son is going again. My sister's husband goes every 90 days for 30 days. It sucks!

I like your little saying by the way at the bottom of your post.

Thank you. My son bought me that tshirt last year and I loved it so much I decided to keep it as my saying. I told him that everyone is going to write him. He asked that they not do it all at once. LOL
