Hi I"m a 20 year active duty Army aviation soldier. I was a single father for eight years raising a 4 year old son. I felt there was a lack of understanding and programs to support single fathers in the military. I am now conducting a study on single military fathers and deployments. I like to hear from single military fathers and start a support group. I have a survey on line a www.surveymonkey.com/s.asp?u=99618163811
I have been getting some good feed back and thoughts from single military fathers and how they are treated by their chain of command. Many comments display a need for certain programs for single fathers especially those who are raising daughters. I would love to hear from you. web page Single parent Survey

Welcome edukate1,

It is nice to see you here at SFV.

>>>You write: I have been getting some good feed back and thoughts from single military fathers and how they are treated by their chain of command. Many comments display a need for certain programs for single fathers especially those who are raising daughters.<<<

I am very curious as to what some of these thoughts are.

Could you possible share with us here about this issue and the direction of some "certain" programs?

I am assuming that you have a daughter?

I feel so left in the lurch here... Please share. Thanks

Peace
Robin

First off, WOW and great job! There is a lot of whining and complaining from single mothers in the military that they aren't being treated right.

They have no idea what it is like to be a single male parent in the Armed Forces: it's almost impossible. I'm not sure how you made it - most men are forced to leave the service.

I'll pass on your survey link to the single fathers I know.
