I am New to SFV |
My soon to be ex husband and I have been seperated for probably about 7 months now. I just went to my legal aid appointment to apply to get it. I will know in 14 days if I did, but more than likely I will get it so I just took the step to actually starting the divorce.
This is and has been very stressful. I was just wondering if anyone can share any tips on what to expect, what is going to happen, etc to better prepare me for all of this. Thanks |

Hi Kristina and welcome to the site. I think while there are often many similarities there are can also be enough differences to each individual process. My own divorce was a formality, since it happened years after we separated, it was the separation that was ugly.
I'm sure you'll get more input, perhaps some more particulars about your situation would help. Great group of people to help you out here. |

start gathering all your bills, make a list of all your bank accounts, credit cards, car loans, savings accounts, retirement (vested or not), mortgages, marital property, and know how you would like to split your dets/liabilities and how you want to split your assets...do you have kids to worry about?
