HB, at first I thought you guys were hispanic. Then when I looked closely I said maybe Hannah had mixed races, but I cant tell what the mix is. Well thanks for sharing

astarte...thank you...she is, inside & out. And you're right bi-racial children are very beautiful. There is something about them that stands out. Hannah's hair is some work at times but I'm getting used to it. It's soft but very curly. I have to condition it twice a day, it's worth it though and so is she.
You are doing much better with her hair than I am with Jewel's. Thankfully she is with her grandma every day (father's mom) and she does it for me. When she starts school it is going to be a real challenge for me. What kind of conditioner do you use? Grandma uses Pink oil and I can't stand it...but it does work. I'd like to find something less greasy.
My daughter is Norwegian and African American. I have the same worries about her hair. I had hoped she was a boy because then I would have just buzzed cut it all the time. I've heard to use the pink lotion too. My S/O took her to a salon that specializes in that kind of hair, and they gave him the pink stuff but its for kids. Its not that greasy. When I go home I'll check out what its called and let you know.

Jewel's hair is definitely kinky. It grows up instead of down. My poor little afro girl Hannah's hair actually looks similiar to MY hair. I have naturally curly hair...maybe my curls are a bit looser though. I wish Jewel had my hair because I would actually know what to do with it! LOL If your products stop working as well (which tends to happen after prolonged use), Neutrogena makes a triple moisture hair serum that works WONDERS on my hair. The bottle is very small and very expensive but a little goes a long way. It goes on a little greasy at first also, but over a short period of time it soaks in and makes your hair very shiny and managable. I used a flat iron on Jewel's hair for the first time last night after her shampoo and it went pretty well. It wasn't snarled this morning at all!

That's interesting, sane one! I have a Norwegian friend who has 2 kids with a guy from Ethiopia. Hanna's picture reminds me of her daughter at that age(she is now 15).
I also have a son from an African father. My son has "european" hair tho, not afro. He has ringlets. When I finally get (the time/patience/intelligence ) to figure out this photo-downloading thing, I can post some pics...........

I was thinking the same thing. About figuring out how to get a picture on here. My baby is only 1, so I don't have to do much styling yet. Her hair is not as tight as her dads would be, but its kinky. If I brush it out, its puffy afro. If it gets wet, back into the tight curls. It is dry though, and thats why we got that pink stuff. (I meant to look at it last night so I could post the name here, but...) I hope my baby's hair comes out like Hannah's when she gets to that age. I'm not good at doing hair in general, I don't know how I'm going to do it. I guess I'll have to learn.
