i need advice from a man with kids. my daughter is only one month old and her father is pushed into caring about her by his mother. i know he doesnt really care by his actions. well at least i think i know. you see he wont talk to me. he doesnt have to because his mother talks for him and does everything for him. how do i get him to talk to me so i can get his mother to stop acting like my childs mother. i need to know what he wants so we can work everything out with no fights. i want to get along with him for my daughters sake. if anyone has any advice please share.

Honestly, if all else fails do it through the legal system. That will take everyone else out of the equation.

It really should be between you and him. His mother, his girlfriend really do not have any say in working out things such as support, visitation or whatever. If he can't/won't talk to you about these things on his own than go the legal route. It is a nice thought to be able to talk together about the raising of your child but if that just won't happen, the decisions can be made through court and the others won't have any say in the matter.

Best wishes

I sent you a message with some information this morning so I hope that help. The bad thing is there is going to be some fighting and once it goes through the legal system she will not be able to interfere. Since she is the grandmother there is no automatic rights given to her and if you stand your ground with both the father and his mother they will really have no power over you or your daughter. We are all here to support you in your decision.
