Hi,
Found this site and was hoping to find some new friends. I'm in Indianapolis area, had hubby arrested in Feb, 2 kids 10 and 6, been unemployed since i left a part time job I had that was supposed to go to full time but didn't to take a hospital course for unit secretary, finished course a couple weeks ago and still don't have a job, managed to get some help from the county human services with bills but, if I don't get a job soon I'm affraid since he has a job that he can take the kids away even though he was abusive to me and our son. Also , my emotions have just been going completely haywire. I have been trying to get help for my self and my children but, since my emotions shined through when my psychiatrist left before my first appointment, even though i was 5 minutes early, I have to start all over because that place is now refusing to see me and my children. Luckily I found a doctor that could start seeing me next week and a place that will start with the kids within a week also. Well that's my story for now, simplified but...anyone wanna chat?

Welcome! I'm new also. I have a daughter turning six next week. As far as your husband getting custody, I know that in most states it does NOT depend on whether you have a job. His being abusive will go a long way in ensuring you retain custody. Just keep looking for a job and good luck!! In the meantime perhaps you can file for child support since he has steady income. This seems like a wonderful and supportive forum.

:welcome:
