Good Day To All...I am new here and look forward to chatting with others who may be experiencing similar issues, issues that I know nothing about and just for some socializing??

I have been single with 3 kids for 4 years and I have just started working full-time and now I am buying a house. I am scared!..nervous and excited because these are dreams and goals I have had for a long time.

I have always thought that "the man for me" would have come along by now, but he hasn't, so life moves on. I would love to hear some feedback from other single parents who own their own home or from any single parent that may have some advice for me, or another single parent who just wants to make a new friend...
Hope to hear from ya'll soon...Have A Great Day!

Whew! Glad I fit in to one of those categories Wink Welcome to SFV! I have a feeling that if you polled all of the members in the site you would find that 98% of us didn't think things would turn out quite the way they did. (the other 2% will be sleeping while the poll goes on Razzer )

I think you've come to a great place to make friends and learn and teach and...well whatever you want to put into the site!

Anyhow..welcome.

Hello and welcome. I own my home and some months it's tough to pay the mortgage and all of the stuff that goes with it, but I wouldn't change it for anything. I have only been a single mom for 4 months and we bought the house when we were together. At first I considered selling, but my mortgage is fairly low and apartment would cost me more.

Owning my own home gives me a sense of accomplishment, and something to take pride in (obviously besides my son!). I wish you the best of luck and hope everything works out for you.

Thanx...I am very excited about buying, I have been renting for 4 years. The house I am buying is older and needs so TLC and a few renos. but for the price(35,000)it was just right. It is within walking distance to my kids school(youngest starts in Sept)and my work(new job).
I have my head up and I am ready to face the challenge...I hope...;-)Have A Great Day All.....

Hi and welcome.

Congrats! on buying the house.
I have a house as well. It is a challenge at times, but the neighbourhood, fenced yard, etc make it so worth it to me.

There is always something that needs doing, of course. One thing at a time.
You'll do fine!

HI Eaglebabe and welcome to the site :welcome:
B said it the best I think. Most of us have been there and done that. Yep, I own my own home and there are a lot of other people who do on the site. It is a little scary at first but you will settle and get comfortable with it. Congrats on it. :balloon:
