I just wanted to drop a line and say thanks to all the great people out here. You have no idea just how much you helped me and my neice to make it through the first few weeks together. All i can think to say is that i have no idea where id be right now if it hadnt been for all of those who gave me the encouragement that i needed to go on. This site reminds me of a quote that i heard some time ago. I cant remember who wrote it but here it is 'We have done so much, for so long, with so little that we are now qualified to do anything with nothing.'. If that doesnt sum up single parenting, i dont know what will.

Very good quote Scott,
And glad to hear you got through the first few weeks well. There's definitely an adjustment period in such a situation. I can relate to that, having gone from a "weekend" type dad to fulltime in the blink of any eye. I just told myself, I will do whatever it is I have to do to make this work, and it's been wonderful.

I'm so glad you and your neice are doing well. Sounds like you two will be fine. She is lucky to have an uncle as loving and dedicated as you are. Keep up the good work!!

hi adrianne
first of all i would like to say thankyou for the complement. i dont get very many of those these days. what i get mostly is pity statements from most of my friends and grief from the government, so its nice to hear a nice complement now and again. all i can really say is that we are trying to come to grips with the situation and it seems that Megan (my niece) is handleing it better than i am. she hasnt even asked me where her mother is yet and im glad for that because i couldnt answer that one even if i wanted to. but like i said, i will do whatever it takes to keep her here with me even if it means loosing all my friends and having to work 3 jobs to do it. wait a minute.......hold on........i dont have very many friends and i already work 2 jobs to support both of us so im already half way there (HAHAHAHA). anyhow, thanks for your support and we will talk to you soon.
